Armstrong & Wentworth
Norwich 2 1/2 gallon ovoid crock. Deeply hand incised and blue accented vine
and flower design decorates this piece with the maker's mark on the opposite
side. Additional blue accents at the applied handles. Most of this CT
factory's pieces were undecorated, so this was most likely a special order.
Inscribed on the bottom "2 1/2". Stack mark just below the design occurred in
firing. There are a couple of other stack marks and stone pings that also
occurred in the making.

stamped and blue washed rosettes under each handle.
Probably Crolius of New York. Nice example of 18th century pottery. There is

piece.

Commeraws Corlears Hook approximate 3 gallon ovoid jar open handles.
Decorated front and back with the signature incised and blue drape design.
Additional blue accents at the handles. The name COMMERAWS is impressed on one
side and CORLEARS HOOK on the opposite. Nice example of one of this country's
first potters. There is a chip at the rim and the maker's mark is lightly
impressed.

double flower design. What appears to be a maker's

York state origin, Hudson Valley origin. There are a couple of old chips at
the rim on the back by the handle. Two other old chips in the rim.
