Hand thrown Albany slip intricately incised stoneware jug. Decorated with a standing stag, trees and bird in an oval frame. Ivy vines and leaves at the rim and handle. Incised lines accent the footed base. Incised initials, "J. W. H." on the front. "1878"
on the back. Impressed, "J. H." and a shield and crown in the base. Probably NYS
origin. A wonderful one of a kind commissioned piece or commemorative.

incised on the side in a scroll as well as in the bottom. English, Greek, and
