Happy Leap Day!
Well, here we go again. We have mailed the March 08 catalog
and hopefully if you have not received your ordered copy yet, you
will this weekend.
I have published the initial photos for each lot. I am
working on adding additional photos of ALL items. I hope to have
the photos all available for you by Monday, March 3rd.
PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE CALL US if you have any questions. We
are still a mail and phone bid absentee auction. Our web site is
designed to assist you with your bidding and supply additional
photos of each item. We will accept email bids, BUT PLEASE NOT ON
THE LAST DAY OF BIDDINGS. We are busy with phones and can't access
the email as often as we need to keep your emailed bids current,
on the last day.
Bids will be posted online by Wednesday, March 5th, but they
are posted manually and are not "REAL TIME". Again, any questions,

We have been busy getting our Spring 08 American Pottery
Auction items photographed and described. Our first Spring 08 sale
will be held as usual in March with a close date of Saturday March
15th. Our second Spring 08 Sale will be the remained of the New
Jersey Estate. Close date of the April sale will be Saturday April
19th.
The catalog cost will be $35 and the will include catalogs
for BOTH auctions. Yes, that's correct, one price - two catalogs.
Our March catalog will be mailed on February 27th.
Our April catalog will be mailed the end of March - date to be
determined.

This should be a fun and exciting Spring for Stoneware and

PLEASE NOTE: LOT 240 The second jug - MEDFORD approximate 1 gallon ovoid jug decorated in
a peppery alkaline glaze. The
jug stamped “Medford” was made by T. Sables & Co. Circa 1838 to
1844 in Medford, Mass., a northern suburb of Boston next to
Charlestown. The reference is early New England Potters and Their
Wares by Lura Woodside Watkins 1968, page 86.. There
is a tight old freeze line around the base extending up under the
handle. This is a little known, RARE mark. 10". 1838 |
